SUMMARY:Hank & My Honky Tonk Heroes
DESCRIPTION:Hank Williams is known the world over as the most influential singer/songwriter ever. Acclaimed performer/musician Jason Petty is bringing the authentic and insightful story of Hank Williams Sr. to life in “Hank and My Honky Tonk Heroes”.\n\nJason Petty made a striking impression on New York’s Theatre District\, starring in “Hank Williams: Lost Highway” which played for nine months to sold out audiences at the Little Shubert Theater. Audiences and critics alike were taken back by Petty’s amazing acting ability in his portrayal of Hank Williams.\n\nPetty won rave reviews from all the major critics\, including the New York Times\, Variety and Rolling Stone. The NY Post stated it best: “At times it seems as if Petty is not just offering an impersonation of Williams\, but channeling his ghost.”  Another sign of recognition for Petty’s brilliant performance of Hank Williams was being honored with an Obie Award (Off Broadway’s Tony Award equivalent) for “Outstanding Actor”.\n\nIn Hank and My Honky Tonk Heroes\, Petty gives audiences a personal look at Williams growing up\, how he became famous\, who influenced the legendary singer /songwriter and performers today who are influenced by Williams.   The show is chock full of Hank's hits from 'Your Cheatin' Heart' and 'I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry'\,  to 'Hey Good Lookin' and 'Lovesick Blues'.\n\nNot only will the great songs of Hank Williams Sr. be performed but audiences also treated to a selection of songs from some of Hank’s influences (including Jimmie Rodgers\, Carter Family\, Roy Acuff and Ernest Tubb)\,  and those who were influenced by Hank  (including George Jones\, Webb Pierce\, Faron Young\, Elvis and Alan Jackson). "Will the Circle Be Unbroken"\, Wine Me Up" and "Midnight in Montgomery” are just a few of such selections included in the set.\n\nGoing back to the beginning when Hank Williams was given his very first guitar\, all the way to how the legend made a lasting impression on popular music\, “Hank and My Honky Tonk Heroes” plays to sold-out houses across the country from Broadway to Nashville and keeps audiences clapping their hands and stomping their feet.

SUMMARY:Remembering Red: A Tribute to Red Skelton
DESCRIPTION:Brian Hoffman as Red Skelton\n\nThis Red Skelton Tribute Artist grew up on a farm in North Dakota. Graduating from high school and starting his own welding business in the oilfields\, he always used humor to get the jobs he landed. Soon the big oil boom of the 1980’s ended forcing him into driving truck over the road to support his wife and two sons.\n\nAs his driving career took him from one state to the next\, people insisted he needed to be on stage making people laugh. His response was always the same\, “I need a real job to support my family.”\n\nYears of friends and strangers telling him he was funny\, he finally took a chance and performed at an amateur night in Hilarities Comedy Club located in Cuyahoga Falls OH. Brian immediately fell in love with the stage and the audience fell in love with him.\n\nAfter performing 5 nights a week for one week out of every month for six months as the MC for Hilarities\, Brian started to feature there every few months. The same time he was working hard securing his own gigs headlining at some private clubs and organizations.\n\nSoon his fans convinced him that he reminded them of Red Skelton. Brian not only looks like Red Skelton\, but has mastered the voices\, characters\, movements\, comedy material\, and impersonations of the man who for many years was known as 'America's Funniest Clown'.\n\nAfter years of writing and studying Red Skelton’s routines\, this tribute artist performed his own show as Red Skelton in the “Entertainment Capitol of the World”\, Las Vegas for years.\n\nNow residing and operating in Pigeon Forge TN\, this Red Skelton impersonator finds time to travel and entertain all over the world.

SUMMARY:The Brother Brothers - Special Backstage Show
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n“Intimate acoustic folk anchored by butter-smooth close-harmony vocals and minimalist-yet-sophisticated arrangements”\n— Rolling Stone Country\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“a duo that pairs tasteful harmony vocals with two-person musical arrangements that weave together bluegrass and the darker side of folk.”\n— No Depression\n\n\n\nThe Brother Brothers are Adam and David Moss\, identical twins carrying on the folk tradition for a new generation. Using minimal instrumentation\, heartfelt lyricism\, and harmonies so natural they seem to blend into one beautiful voice\, the siblings draw on the energy and creativity of Brooklyn\, New York for their full-length debut album\, Some People I Know.\nThe Brother Brothers’ acoustic project emerges from several years spent traveling the country\, both separately and together\, playing in varying ensembles and sometimes settling in separate cities. Though each writes his fair share of the discography independently\, the brothers’ palpable fraternal bond produces a togetherness in these songs that few bands can offer.\nThe title\, Some People I Know\, refers to the resonating personal nature of these songs. As David explains\, “I think every song on the album is about a person or a character\, and in a way\, is a reflection of ourselves.” Track after track\, this sentiment rings true; “Mary Anne” is an encouraging ode to a friend with depression. “Banjo Song” conveys a conversation with someone who gives up playing an instrument after a hurtful breakup. “The Gambler” honors an old man who makes his living at Atlantic City casinos.\nThe Brother Brothers recorded Some People I Know at Mark Ettinger’s Lethe Lounge in New York City with producer Robin Macmillan and engineer Jefferson Hamer. While the songs capably capture a modern snapshot of their surroundings\, the album itself retains a timeless feel – something the brothers intentionally accomplished. “I just want people to listen to it once and want to listen to it again\,” David says of the album. “And every time they listen to it\, I want them to find something new and in some way relate it to themselves. Whether they're listening to it today or in 40 years\, I hope it will make them feel just the same.”\n\n

SUMMARY:The Steel Wheels
DESCRIPTION:“Few groups have come as far in such a short period of time as The Steel Wheels…” – NPR’s Mountain Stage\n\nVirginia-based acoustic roots music collective The Steel Wheels have announced the July 12th release of their 7th full-length album\, Over The Trees. Recorded in Maine with producer Sam Kassirer\, Over The Trees draws attention to the impeccable harmonies of the four original members: Trent Wagler (guitar/banjo)\, Eric Brubaker (fiddle)\, Brian Dickel (bass)\, and Jay Lapp (guitars/mandolin). Kevin Garcia\, who plays multiple percussion instruments\, keyboard\, and mallet-based instruments\, formally joined the band after the 2017 release of Wild as We Came Here\, which Kassirer also produced. In addition to familiar-to-fans harmonies\, The Steel Wheels ventured a little farther out of their known comfort zone for Over The Trees. “This is a bit of an experimental record at times\, with new sounds and influences\,” Wagler says. “We know where we come from. We are a string band from Virginia\, but we are evolving with this album\, and we are embracing the future.”\n\n \n\nThe release of Over The Trees coincides with the band’s Red Wing Roots Music Festival\, which they have hosted and curated for seven years. “Lucky number seven\, can you believe it?” said Wagler. “The changes of seasons in Virginia are always something to behold. The colors of fall\, the cool\, quiet\, darkness of winter\, and the new growth of spring bringing us to our full bloom in the heat of summer. Summertime brings vacation for many\, perhaps a slower pace\, but in our modern age\, it also comes with so many great choices for recreation and fun. We are charmed and delighted that somewhere along the way\, among all the different choices\, so many of you have joined our Red Wing family.” The community of Red Wing and the greater community of Steel Wheels fans have been the driving factor of what sets the band apart from their contemporaries and peers in a densely populated digital age. The love and kindness that breathes life into The Steel Wheels’ music flows freely from the stage\, into the audience\, and is taken from there into the world as a medicine; a much-needed pick-me-up for today’s trying times.

SUMMARY:The Necks
DESCRIPTION:The Necks\, referred to by The New York Times as "one of the best trio's on Earth"\, are an Australian experimental jazz trio formed in 1987.  They play improvisational pieces that extend for long periods of time\, exploring the development and demise of repeated musical forms.  Their 2017 double LP\, Unfold\, was named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the Top 20 Avant Garde albums of the year.\n\nGeoff Winston of London Jazz News described how "Each performance by [the Necks] begins with a blank page which one of the trio will start to fill in to commence the journey\, an uninterrupted set of around forty to sixty minutes. There are no rules\, no agreements about who will take that lead and about how the discourse will evolve. The only criteria that apply are those of their own impeccably high standards." Typically a live performance will begin very quietly with one of the musicians playing a simple figure. One by one\, the other two will join with their own contributions–all three players independent yet intertwined. As the 'piece' builds through subtle micro-changes\, the interaction of their instruments creates layers of harmonics and prismatic washes of sound that lead some to apply the genre label 'trance Jazz'.   While their live performances can be challenging for those expecting a conventional musical experience\, the thrill of the unique experience is sure to delight those willing to give it a try.   \n\n \n\n
