October 8 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
An originator of the progressive bluegrass movement, often called the “Father of Newgrass,” and member of the ground-breaking band New Grass Revival, Sam Bush is an International Bluegrass Music Association Hall of Fame member, four-time Mandolin Player of the Year, and a multi-Grammy winner.
After a quarter-century of making music with New Grass Revival and collaborating with other bands, Sam Bush went solo. He has released seven albums and a live DVD over the past two decades. In 2009, the Americana Music Association awarded Bush the Lifetime Achievement Award for Instrumentalist. Describing Bush as a “wizard of the strings,” one reviewer writes that Bush’s “name has become a seal of quality and promise of an innovative and fun approach.”
